Terms of Service

These terms apply when you download, install or buy Windsify. They are written to be read, not to be survived. If something here is unclear, ask before you buy and we will answer plainly.

Who you are dealing with

Windsify is made and published by Wondering Works, an independent software studio. You can reach a real person at windsify.com/support.

The two editions

Windsify Free is free of charge and permanent. Its source is published under the GNU General Public License version 3 only, and that licence, not this page, governs what you may do with the source. See Source & License.

Windsify Pro is a paid, proprietary product. Buying it grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable lifetime licence to use Pro on up to three Macs that you own or control. It does not transfer ownership of the software, and it does not grant rights to the Pro source code.

You may not resell, sublicense, rent out or redistribute Pro, or share your licence key publicly. You may not remove or obscure the licensing and attribution notices in the app.

The trial

Every download runs the complete Pro feature set for 14 days, with no account and no payment details required. When the trial ends, the app does not stop working and does not lock your settings: it becomes the Free edition and keeps every Free feature permanently. You are never charged automatically, because there is nothing to cancel.

Buying, payment and refunds

Purchases are processed by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record. That means Polar is the seller for the transaction, handles payment, and is responsible for collecting any sales tax, VAT or GST that applies where you live. Your payment details are handled by Polar and never reach us.

Because the trial lets you evaluate every Pro feature before paying, we ask you to use it. If you buy and the app does not do what this website says it does, contact us through Support and we will arrange a refund through Polar. Refund requests are also subject to Polar's own terms as the merchant of record.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where such a guarantee applies and we are permitted to limit our liability, our liability is limited to resupplying the software or refunding what you paid for it.

What the software does and does not promise

Windsify is provided as it is. We work to make it correct and we fix what we find, but we do not warrant that it will be free of defects, that it will suit a particular purpose of yours, or that it will keep working unchanged across future versions of macOS. Apple changes the platform and some of what Windsify does depends on interfaces Apple controls.

Windsify requires the macOS Accessibility permission to reshape key events and to move windows. Granting it is your decision and you can withdraw it at any time in System Settings, which stops the app from working rather than harming anything. What the permission is used for is described in the Privacy page.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data, lost profits or lost time, arising from your use of the software.

Updates and changes

Your Windsify Pro licence includes lifetime access and all future Windsify Pro updates, including major version upgrades, at no additional charge. There is no subscription or renewal fee.

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top of this page always shows the current version, and material changes will be described rather than slipped in.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Nothing here prevents you from relying on consumer protections available to you where you live.
