Switch input languages on Mac with a Windows keyboard

First identify what you want to change: the selected macOS input source, or the Chinese/English mode inside one input method. They can have different controls. A Windows keyboard can use the built-in macOS options before you add a shortcut utility.
1. Start with the built-in input-source controls
Add the sources you need under System Settings → Keyboard → Text Input. Try selecting each from the menu bar, then review Keyboard Shortcuts → Input Sources. Control+Space selects the previous source; Control+Option+Space selects the next, unless you changed those assignments. Caps Lock and Fn/Globe can also be configured for language switching where supported. See Apple’s input-method guide.
2. Input source and IME mode are different
A third-party IME may have its own English mode. Changing the selected source does not necessarily toggle that internal mode. Watch the menu-bar source as well as the IME indicator. With only one enabled source, there may be no other source to select.
On a standard Windows keyboard, Win normally corresponds to Command and Alt to Option. A hardware Fn key may not send a macOS Fn event. Check any Win/Mac hardware switch before changing software settings.
3. Use Windsify Pro Win+Space
- Enable at least two input sources, such as Pinyin and ABC, in macOS.
- Enable Windsify’s Windows keyboard shortcuts, grant Accessibility access and confirm that Pro or its trial is active.
- Press Win+Space on a Windows keyboard, or the corresponding Command key plus Space on an Apple keyboard. Check the selected source in the menu bar.
Windsify directly selects the next enabled input source. It does not install an IME or guarantee control of every IME’s internal language mode. Control+Space remains native for the system and current application.
If switching does not work
Confirm that selecting the source manually works, then check the keyboard engine and Pro status. For a problem limited to remote desktop or one application, compare that application’s settings. Feedback needs the keyboard model, source names and shortcut—not the text you typed.
