Snipping Tool on Mac: use Win+Shift+S and copy screenshots to the clipboard

The closest built-in Mac shortcut to Windows Snipping Tool is Shift+Command+4. By default it captures a selected area. To send that selection straight to the clipboard, add Control: Control+Shift+Command+4. If your hands already know Win+Shift+S, Windsify Pro 1.4.18 maps that Windows shortcut to the native macOS clipboard capture.

Why Win+Shift+S does not do the same thing on a Mac by default
On a standard Windows keyboard connected to a Mac, the Windows-logo key normally acts as Command. That means physical Win+Shift+S becomes Command+Shift+S, which is not macOS's selected-area screenshot shortcut. The native screenshot chord uses the number 4 instead: Shift+Command+4.
There is no need for another app just to take a selected-area screenshot. Apple's built-in shortcut already does it. The friction for a Windows switcher is the changed chord — and the extra Control modifier when the goal is “snip, paste, keep moving” rather than saving another image file.
Copy a selected Mac screenshot directly to the clipboard
- Press Control+Shift+Command+4.
- Drag the macOS crosshair around the area you want.
- Release the mouse or trackpad button.
- Paste into an app that accepts images.
Apple documents the Control modifier as the clipboard variant of its screenshot shortcuts. Without Control, the normal selected-area shortcut is Shift+Command+4. The screenshot thumbnail can also be used for follow-up actions.
Keep Win+Shift+S on a Windows keyboard with Windsify

That is a separate Windsify Pro shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+4. It first freezes the current displays, then opens the native macOS region selector over those frozen pixels. This is useful for transient UI such as Spotlight or an Apps panel that would otherwise disappear when focus changes.
The frozen mode requires Screen Recording permission because Windsify has to capture the pixels that it keeps underneath the system selector. The captured image stays in memory for the selection and is copied to the clipboard. The passive frozen backgrounds do not take keyboard or mouse input.
